Amazon, Noon and Trendyol PPC: structure first, automation second

Organise campaigns around product roles, margin and search intent before adding automated bidding rules.

Build a campaign structure you can explain before adding automation. If products with different margins, stock positions and purposes share an undifferentiated budget, a bidding rule cannot decide what the business actually wants. Start by defining the role of each advertised product.

For Amazon, Noon and Trendyol, the controls available to an account can differ. Do not copy a setup into fields that are not present or assume a particular targeting option exists. For campaign eligibility, available controls and advertising requirements, check the current rules in the seller portal.

Separate products by role

Distinguish products being introduced from established offers and products that need a different commercial objective. Keep the role in the campaign naming or planning record. Record the product margin, stock constraints and reason for advertising alongside it.

Avoid mixing items when doing so prevents a meaningful decision about spend. A product with limited stock should not inherit the same plan as one ready for replenishment. Decide who can change the objective when stock, price or product costs change.

Organise targeting around intent

Where available, match types let you organise how closely a shopper’s search relates to your chosen terms. Separate exploratory targeting from terms you want to review more specifically. Confirm the controls and their definitions rather than assuming identical behaviour across platforms.

Review search terms for relevance to the actual item. Use negative keywords, where supported, to exclude unsuitable searches after checking that the exclusion will not block a relevant product use. Keep a note explaining the decision so later reviews do not undo it without reason.

Calculate the margin boundary

Break-even ACoS equals profit margin before ad cost when both use the same sales basis and the margin includes the relevant non-advertising costs. It is a planning boundary, not a promise of profit. Include product cost, fulfilment, selling costs and appropriate return assumptions before using it.

Example: a product with AED 100 of sales and AED 30 remaining before advertising has a pre-advertising profit margin of 30%. In this example, break-even ACoS is 30%. A target of 25% leaves AED 5 after AED 25 of advertising, assuming the example costs remain unchanged. These are formula examples, not client results or recommended targets for every product.

Set the target below your own break-even boundary if the objective requires profit after advertising. Keep calculation methods consistent, and check current fees in the seller portal when updating the cost inputs.

Review decisions weekly

Use a regular review to connect spend with relevant searches, orders, margin and stock. Check the reporting window and attribution definitions before comparing periods. Do not treat a short run of activity as proof that a bid should always change.

  • Review spend and sales against the product’s objective.
  • Check search relevance and negative-keyword decisions.
  • Confirm that price, margin and stock remain suitable.
  • Record changes and the reason for each adjustment.

Add automation with guardrails

Automation rules help when they repeat a clearly defined decision using suitable data. Give each rule an owner, a spending boundary and an exception process. Review the actions it takes. Keep human decisions for changing product roles, resolving content problems and handling stock constraints that the rule cannot interpret.

Examples use round numbers to explain a formula. They are not client results.
